Using movement & exercise in clinical practice

Movement is a key part of helping painful problems and vital for the health of our tissues, joints, and humans in general!

  • Learn how to break free from the outdated anatomy/pathology model of pain and injury
  • Learn how specific with exercise/treatment we really need to be
  • How to create a “movement experience” with a practical exercise lab
  • Find out why exercise for pain is not the same as exercise for fitness and why that matters to patients
  • Understand what a biopsychosocial approach really is and why many do it wrong

Come and join Ben Cormack as he helps you understand how to incorporate movement into treatment for clients with painful problems. Ben will explore what we currently know about movement and exercise from the scientific literature and help you implement this into practical tools you can apply in clinic.

You will gain a knowledge of modern models of pain & movement that help to break down many of the unhelpful myths that stop people from moving their bodies and make clinicians cautious around prescribing movement and exercise.

"Functional therapeutic movement is without a doubt one of the most practical, well referenced, clinically relevant, and beneficial continuing education courses I’ve taken. Ben has a lively presentation style that keeps you engaged, a good sense of humor, and clear mastery over his content. The course is relevant and valuable for young and experienced clinicians alike. Be sure to come prepared for discussion and plenty of critical thinking!"
